Okay, last Earl Scruggs and Tom T. Hall song I’ll post tonight.
If you want to know/understand me at all, you’ll listen to this song. I’m not asking you to like it, I’m asking you to listen to it, please!
This is a song I can listen to with any kind of mood, and it will immediately give me a feeling of elation and excitement. Utter happiness, really.
If anything, this song proves that Scruggs and Hall were able to bust down the walls that seem to surround old-time country, bluegrass, and western genres - this song, “No Expectations,” was originally a song from The Rolling Stones. Scruggs and Hall took it and made it a bluegrass/country song. So, yeah. They made some awesome music, and I will always claim this music as my roots more than any other music out there.
