My cat has been sick for several weeks, and doesn’t appear to be getting any better. Normally an independent cat, he now follows my mom and I around, everywhere, like he’s velcroed to us. Like he needs us, and there is not much we can do to cure him. He’s an old cat, somewhere around 11 or 12 years old, with a tendency to become constipated. I’ve taken him to the vet, but the laxative has yet to bring any relief. There is nothing more I can do, other than keep him cool through this infernal heat, and keep shoving food down his face. The kitchen floor is covered with his diarrhea spots.

He affectionately looks to me for help, and there is little help I can give him. 

Sigh.
